Ferocity is a judgement free zone.
People from all walks of life are welcome.
The Ferocity Dance Company was founded in 2012 and focuses on Bachata Fusion pieces: mixing ballroom as well as other dance styles with Bachata to create a distinct viewpoint and style. The Ferocity Dance Company houses three Ladies teams, a student performance group, a competitive group, and the Professional Company.

The mission statement of the Company is: Fierce Is For Everyone.

Most of the students that attend Ferocity are currently performers or striving performers. Students can be seen anywhere from once a week to seven times a week - it depends on how many teams and workshops they attend! We pride ourselves on offering teams that have different bachata styles so that our dancers learn new things, new styles, and new perspective! It is our hope that through constant support for the dance community, friendly behavior on and off the dance floor, and a distinct respect for all dance styles, that we can create a safe environment for all to learn and enjoy dancing.

Anyone that wants to be family, can be.

Our studio doesn't operate like a traditional dance studio, but it doesn't mean that there's not an opportunity for you to join in on the fun! From training teams to group classes, there's always something you can get involved with if you want to be a part of Ferocity.

Fierce is for Everyone - that means you!

About Dr. Jacinto Arias Sanchez

My whole life I've loved one man, and that man has been my father. He has been a solid and never-ending example of how to be nothing other than yourself at all times. He wasn't a complicated man, and therefore didn't do anything to overcomplicate life. He was about relationships, memories, laughter and love.

My father, Cesar, is the biggest reason I have found the courage to pursue dance as a life vocation. He was the best cheerleader I could have ever asked for. He showed me an amazing work ethic, and never ending optimism to combat everything in this life. He helped me get the funding together to get my studio, my home away from home that's become a haven for so many of my dancers. On August 14th, 2014 we received the devastating news, that my father had advanced stage kidney cancer that had begun to spread. Despite our best efforts, and all the prayers and hope that this life could give, on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014, my father lost his battle to kidney cancer, passing away in his sleep as my mom and I laid with him.

My father was a phenomenal man. A man that gave every single day of his life without asking for anything in return. A man that looked out for everyone around him before taking a second for himself. A man that made it his priority to take care of and protect his wife and daughter from everything. I miss him so much.. the picture next to this post hangs at the studio as a constant reminder to be my best.

Group Classes & Workshops

Due to the heavy rehearsal schedule by our teams and other local groups, we don't offer many group classes, but we are glad to offer what we can! We also offer Special Bachata Intensives and Boot Camps throughout the year so that we can focus on social dancing which is why we are all here to begin with!

We pride ourselves on having a welcoming studio with a positive energy that makes all feel welcome when they walk through our doors.

Safety in all Instances

On the Dance Floor

At Ferocity we dance a variety of styles of bachata - and we really go through technique and consent in order to make our social dancing as safe as possible. Dips, body manipulations and other things of this sort require the leader AND the follow to have certain knowledge and understandings and consent in order to make the social dance experiences that much more enjoyable!

Please note that generally speaking, dips should be used sparingly in social dancing. Also, tricks and lifts shouldn't be done on a social dance floor as it can be dangerous not only for the dancers involved, but for the dancers surrounding as well.

If you want to do lifts and tricks, feel free to ask about our performance teams, or of course - you can practice things that you know well and can execute with friends that you trust in a safe environment!

Going dancing can be a very interesting experience if you've never done so before! The lights, music, bar, and hundreds of people dancing and enjoying can be very overwhelming.

If you'll be drinking, make sure to understand your limits. Not everyone enjoys dancing while drinking as it can affect balance or focus. When you walk from a bar to wherever you may be sitting, always walk around the perimeter of the dance floor instead of cutting right through as you'll be walking by people that are social dancing and arms, legs, and bodies may be flying around !

Wherever you may go, only dance with people you feel comfortable with, and if someone ends up dancing in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, tighten up your frame or stop the dance - social dancing is supposed to be a fun time for everyone.

At All Times

When you go to big events or Congresses, the focus is on having fun: the workshops, parties until the next day, drinking, pictures and countless other types of activities can and do happen.

Please try to not explore events by yourself, always be in a group and have your friends know where you are. Should anything, in any type of event, happen that makes you uncomfortable, don't be afraid to ask for help from the organizers. Also please note that while bachata may look like it's a very intimate dance, it does have rules on AND off the dance floor.

We are continuously working on and learning how  to make our Company and studio safe and inclusive to people from all walks of life. We take our role and commitment in creating and ultimately, maintaining a safe place for our dancers very seriously and reserve the right to modify and/or refuse entry at any time at the end of our conflict resolution process.
